The Los Angeles Lakers are having a tough time lately. LeBron James has been sidelined for a minimum of 2-3 weeks due to a foot injury. D’Angelo Russell is also dealing with an injury, although he is expected to return soon. To make matters worse, Anthony Davis is reported to be out of the upcoming game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers will not be playing against the Oklahoma City Thunder this evening.
Anthony Davis put in an impressive performance for the Lakers in their Tuesday loss to the Grizzlies, tallying 28 points, 19 rebounds, and five blocks. Unfortunately, they must now figure out a way to defeat the Thunder without his presence. Fortunately, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is also likely to be out of action due to entering health and safety protocols on Tuesday.
Anthony Davis hasn’t had a double-header game since November, which is not unexpected. Additionally, it looks like he sustained some sort of twist to his wrist and knee in the contest against Memphis, which could make it prudent for the Lakers to take precautionary measures and give Davis a rest, to avoid potentially losing both stars to long-term injuries.
The Los Angeles Lakers are rapidly fading
Without LeBron James unavailable for a few weeks, Anthony Davis has to step up to ensure the team’s success. His performance on Tuesday was impressive, but with him unavailable for Wednesday’s game, the Lakers’ chances of victory are uncertain. Nevertheless, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also out of the lineup, the Lakers still have a chance to win and make a push for the playoffs.
